School Innovation Zones Act West Virginians for Education Reform supports the recent legislation passed called the School Innovation Zones Act. We believe that this legislation will open the door to innovation and change for WV students. The Innovation Zones legislation allows for existing schools to apply for waivers from policy, which gives schools and teachers more freedom. West Virginians for Education Reform looks forward to the opportunity to work with students, parents, teachers and community leaders to implement the Innovation Zones policy.
West Virginia Charter School Act West Virginians for Education Reform believes that charter schools provide for innovation, change and choice in the public education system. We supported the West Virginia Charter School Act of 2009 and 2010. We are currently working with various parties to advance legislation in a possible special session in May.
