Sallye Clark -

Sallye Clark taught for 35 years in the West Virginia public school system, retiring in June 2009. She received her Bachelor’s and Master of Arts from Marshall University, in 1973 and 1997 respectively. An advocate for students in the classroom and their learning opportunities, Clark believes all students should be afforded the best public education available. Clark began her teaching career in Lincoln County, moved to Cabell County and ended her career in Kanawha County at George Washington High School. A proponent of public education, her extensive experience in the classroom, her ongoing professional growth, and her passion for student learning qualifies her as an advocate and ally for innovation, choice, and change in West Virginia’s public schools.
Ben Adams -

Ben Adams is currently a senior at Capital High School and has attended public school his entire life in Kanawha County. At Capital Ben is the student body president, a member of the Capital High School Chapter of National Honor Society and maintains a GPA of 4.1. He represents the students of West Virginia on the West Virginia Council for Civic Literacy and West Virginia State Board of Education. As a student Ben sees firsthand both the successes and failures of the public education system. Ben believes that empowering students and giving them choice, change and innovation in their education will ensure success for all West Virginia students.
Tim McClung -

Tim McClung works for Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Inc. focusing on science and technology enterprises. He started his career with IBM working as a Systems Engineer for over 18 years. In September 2000, Tim turned his attention to West Virginia’s economic development efforts and joined the West Virginia Development Office. His focus was on expanding the State’s efforts in public/private research and development (R&D), entrepreneurial initiatives, equity financing and technology-based economic development. In January 2002, Tim became Managing Director of the Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Charleston where he developed and participated in programs to support entrepreneurs in West Virginia. Tim is a leading advocate in the state for innovation and reform in education. He is the education track leader for CreateWV and was instrumental in the creation of the Innovation Zones concept and legislation.
