West Virginians for Education Reform (WVER) was established in 2009 to encourage innovation, change, quality and choice within the West Virginia public education system. WVER is comprised of students, teachers, parents, business people and community leaders who are dedicated to providing every student in the state with the best possible public education.

WVER believes that students in the state need a public "choice" in their education. WVER is promoting quality public charter school legislation to give students a choice in their education. We believe quality public charter schools provide an option for students who need a different environment to learn, which is free from bureaucratic policies that could stand in the way of receiving the best public education possible.Public charter schools empower teachers to have more flexibility that allows them to ensure every student succeeds.

We are asking all West Virginians to stand with us and promote public school options and quality public charter schools in West Virginia.
